This was a 2D Pixel Animated game. All assets of the game were created by me and then imported into construct into a playable demo. My main focus was for animations for this project. This project is a demonstration of how far I've come with my skills.
ABOUT
I'm a recent graduate from the University of Advancing Technology and have a Bachelors in Game Art and Animation as of May 2020. I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and came out to Tempe, Arizona for my studies. My main passion is Animation, whether it be 2D or 3D. I know plenty about Animation, but also know about Modeling, Rigging, and Texturing, and a bit of coding as well too. Main programs I use are Maya, 3DS Max, Unity, Substance Painter, and Unreal. Basketball is also one of my other favorite passions. I love playing and I love watching it as well. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work!
COMMUNITY STATEMENT
As a kid, I always liked cartoons growing up. I have switched up my career path a lot because, you know, being a kid you don’t really commit to anything until later. Eventually, I figured out that since I like cartoons so much, why don’t I make them? That's when my path as an animator began. I had a knack for drawing, and seeing them come to life was always something I wanted to do. With animation, I was able to do just that. The more I learned about it, the better I got with it as with everything. I ended up watching even more cartoons, 2D and 3D ones as well. I studied them, the art, the style of animation, and learned from them. However, I was influenced by traditional animation, so animating by hand is the most successful thing I’ve become skilled at. I can apply my skills to all types of animation, 2D and 3D included, but my most proficient is hand drawn or tablet-drawn. In college, I’ve always thought about where I want to go or where to apply myself when I finish. The answer to that came as naturally as animating. Since cartoons were always something I loved looking at, I figured I would actually want to commit to making one. I’m a sucker for kid shows, so I would want to make a cartoon geared towards kids and teens to watch, and maybe even older adults to get into. I would like to join a community of animators and storytellers that show their art to younger people for their enjoyment. I want to join people that come together to make amazing animated stories that will be filled with fun, danger, excitement, and a great story with great morals to tell. Making something like this was something I’ve always wanted to do, and being able to do it will be very exciting. I have even thought up stories and made short animations on what I would want to make. My main ambition lies within creating something that will be shown to everyone, and hopefully I join a wonderful community like that. My plan is to join a small scale company that focuses on animations or cartoons, or freelance if possible. I think that it would be the best if I could start small and build up more of a reputation and more professional work projects to include in my portfolio. I have already stored up animations and drafts of what cartoon I would like to make as well, and will show them whenever needed. Hopefully, these gain traction and I will then head to a company that I have always had an eye on, Sony Animation Pictures. Even if I don’t end up working there, I will still continue to develop my stories with whatever company I do work for. I already have great stories to what I would like to create, and have some great clips on animation to get into. I would want to at least get opinions on several parts of what I want to animate, and using that feedback I will change and adapt what I create. Furthermore, I have several ideas and animations to choose from, and I want to make sure that I get what I want to make right when I work with the right people. When I have built up my name and reputation enough, I hope to be able to be in charge of a cartoon and be able to aid in animation with it. I want to be together with a the community to make entertaining cartoons for everyone to enjoy.
